Visiting Artist Program
Neusole Glassworks Visiting Artist Program grants artists from outside the Greater Cincinnati area the opportunity to work in and experience our studio environment while building their body of work. This also allows them to interact with the culture, settings and art community of Cincinnati. This program also provides students with direct personal contact with practicing professional artists.
The primary mission of the Visiting Artist Program is to educate and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of contemporary glass art through engagement with the community at large. Each year a diverse group of 8-10 nationally and internationally recognized artists are invited to Neusole to develop their body of work for presentation to a large audience of students, faculty and community members.
Selected artists will receive a stipend to cover transportation, food and materials. Accommodations are provided free of charge. Visiting artists will have free use of the studio facilities including equipment and tools. Clear glass will also be provided. Color will be at the VA’s expense. Technical or collaborative assistance may be available from Neusole Glasswork’s artists and will be negotiated during VA agreement.
Chosen applicants will be given up to two weeks to create their body of work. The artist’s visit may culminate in an exhibition and artist demonstration at Atmosphere @ Neusole, Cincinnati’s newest gallery dedicated to the glass arts.
Visiting artists may be asked to donate two pieces of their work to JJS3 Foundation for their annual auction.
